Welcome to my home, garden and workshop. I have worked in clay since it captured my heart as a student. Ideas come thick and fast – clay is the medium of my thought process. Making pots is a strange alchemy of form, balance and glaze. Each firing contains experiments and glaze tests, so I am always developing new work. Once fired, a pot enters a new world of association with other objects – pots, food, colours and textures, while still communicating the sensibilities of the maker.
My standard pale turquoise glaze continues to strike a modern note. My recently developed Fire and Flint glaze, with its reddish and blue-grey colours, has the earthy warmth of Japanese studio ceramics. My whole range of glazes is dishwasher safe and is suited to both one-off pieces and my functional, domestic ware, such as the new range of food drainers. You will see work in progress and browse an exhibition of recent pots. I look forward to meeting old friends and new enthusiasts.
