Iris Eisenhart is one of four artists to show their cornucopia of new work at Jephson Gardens Glasshouse Studio.
Iris is a studio potter who trained in pottery in California a decade ago. Throwing has been her passion ever since and the creation of a new shape on the wheel has been a constant source of joy to her. She also makes and applies her own glazes to create individual colours. Her inspiration is nature. Each piece is crafted as a harmonious, organic vessel. The glazes aim at capturing shades reminiscent of the sky, the deep sea, a lagoon or the flow of a river going into the woods. Rain-like splashes and cloudy transitions of colour on a bowl create a sense of fluidity and change in life. Her vessels are made especially to bring the spectacle of natural harmony into a home and give pleasure to their users.
The three other artists are:
Fiona Metcalfe – Textiles, Printmaking & Mixed Media
Karen Stephenson – Painting & Printmaking
Marie Calvert – Painting & Photography
