I sell my work to support Eddy, a little Cuban boy whom I met when he was two years old. Eddy was born healthy but caught meningitis as a baby, and although he survived, he was left unable to hear, see, speak or mobilise and he is fed through a tube into his stomach. Eddy will be twelve this August. I used to visit every year to take things he needed, but now I send money every month to help his mother to keep the family going in a time of Covid chaos, scarce food and rocketing prices.
All my pictures begin in my camera; there is then a great deal of work done on my computer, and it can take me hours or even weeks to finish an image to my satisfaction. I love to create giclée prints of our beautiful town and the surrounding area, flowers, animals, trees, and scenes from all over this country and abroad. My Cuban pictures are particularly evocative and colourful. At South Lodge I shall also be offering coasters, mugs and cards.
