Andy is a storyteller. He likes the audience to wonder what may have happened, be happening or what might come to pass. His latest series of paintings are an exploration of dreams and dreaming.

Over the past few years, he has worked one on one to create narrative portraits. These are based on dialogue with the participant exploring their memories, feelings and emotions, and then using a painting to try to capture and open up some aspect of themselves. These pieces are often accompanied by written or spoken content from the subject.

Andy became a full-time artist in 2010 after spending the first part of his career in marketing and advertising. A serious illness and a damascene moment on the commute to London led him to embark on a new direction. He was a winner in the 2018 Ashurst Emerging Artist competition. His “Portraits of Coventry” series of paintings will be exhibited in Coventry Cathedral in August.
