Welcome to my workshop near Stratford-upon-Avon. I have worked in clay since it captured my heart as a student. Ideas come thick and fast – clay is the medium of my thought process. I develop all my own stoneware glazes in order to work towards my ideal, even though not every pot comes out of the kiln as I expect. Making pots is a strange alchemy of form, balance and glaze. Once fired, a pot enters a new world of association with other objects – pots, food, colours and textures, while still communicating the sensibilities of the maker. My recent work includes one-off studio pieces such as bowls, as well as kitchenware, see http:// janeemmersonceramics.wordpress.com. I am particularly pleased with my latest range of egg racks in a modern celadon glaze. You will see work in progress and browse an exhibition of recent pots. I love sharing my passion for ceramics and meeting old friends and new enthusiasts. Enjoy our cottage garden. Refreshments are in aid of Cancer Research.
