Emma is a painter from Brinklow, near Rugby.
She’s that child who would play with bugs and make insect hospitals to care for them! You may have also found her playing with her pet garden snails or performing heartfelt funerals for dead mice. That inner child still lives in her with an affinity towards nature and a love of wildlife. Growing up in Coventry and then moving to a small village, aged six, it didn’t take long for her to feel that the woods and the fields were home and to notice the sad reality of the urban overtaking the wild. Emma’s paintings share the beauty of the wild using soft ethereal paint strokes which create movement around her subjects. The use of definition and realism in areas of the work serves to draw the viewer in, to become part of this world for a while. She is mainly inspired to paint wild animals, wishing to elevate their status to all. You can find more examples of her work here:
