I work in acrylics, aiming to capture the beauty of light reflecting off the landscape. I am drawn to scenes in which sunlight, shadows and perspective conspire to draw the viewer into the composition. I predominantly take my inspiration from urban and rural scenes in Warwickshire and trees feature in most of my scenes. I generally work from a plein air sketch in pencil and then develop the piece in the studio from source photographs to produce the necessary effect.
As in previous years, I am exhibiting as part of Milverton Art Trail. This year, I will be at St Mark’s Church, Rugby Road on Saturdays and at my home in central Leamington Spa on Fridays and Sundays. At both venues we will enforcing social distancing and visitors must wear a face covering at all times. I hope we are able to meet in person or else you can view my work on my website and social media.
