I have always had a keen interest in drawing and painting, and gained A Level Art when at school, greatly encouraged by my art teacher – a member of the Royal Academy. I also attended an art course at the then Hornsey College of Art in London, with a view to making art my career. My life then took me in various other directions, until in 2005 I was able to return to my original love by painting in watercolour some of the beautiful and amazing sights seen during my travels in this country and around the world. Most of my paintings are created while I am at sea, my cabin becoming my studio, where – free from external interruptions – I have the peace, tranquillity and light to lend my mind's eye to the glorious scenes that I recall. I moved from London to Warwickshire in 2014, exhibiting in Central and Greater London before I moved, and since then exhibiting in Rugby. I have been a member of Warwickshire Open Studios since 2015.
