Nature and wildlife around me, especially feathered friends, inspire me to create linocuts and drawings. I enjoy creating both monoprints and reduction linocuts (multi-layered and multi-coloured prints, also known as a 'suicide print' as there is no going back once you have started the next layer!). My print studio is either my kitchen or back room, hand printing with my trusty metal spoon!
I also enjoy blogging about the process of creating my linocuts, which can be found on www.alixalmond.com, and will be demonstrating the different techniques used to create the prints and showing how to make a register to make sure the reduction linocuts line up when printing.
