Emily is a Fine Art graduate, working in mental health with aspirations to complete an MA in Art Psychotherapy. She graduated with a Fist Class degree from Liverpool John Moors in 2013, and a PGCE in the arts in 2016. She has since worked in supportive settings with learning disability, autism and mental health in order to gain experience to work towards a place on a masters course. Emily is passionate about the powers of art as a tool for healing. She is fascinated by the connection of art and mental health and has found it influence her work.
Having had a break from her art practise after leaving university, she is back working on developing her painting style and artist identity in her new studio. Her work in mental health has influenced her practice and is keen to convey the strength and fragility of human kind within the images she produces. Emily has a love for painting faces and has been experimenting with using flowers within her work to communicate emotions and meaning.
