I will be exhibiting at this venue with Heather Bailey (Painting), Melanie Charles (Animal Painter) and Penny Varley (Potter) and together we are taking inspiration from the new presentation 'Made to Measure Home' at Upton House and interpreting it in a 21st century style. Our art work will be influenced by the house, its interiors and artifacts and its surraoundings. In the 1920's there was a great emphasis on textiles both as wearables and decoration for the home, so I will be exhibiting, a screen, a curtain, cushions, hangings and a pattern book showing patterns and colourways for curtains and wall decoration, as well as other artifacts. Alongside the exhibition we will be presenting our ideas to the visitors showing how we arrived at our final pieces as well as demonstrating our skills. In the past I have been involved with similar projects in a number of stately homes and have found the briefs both stimulating and challenging. This exhibition will provide a feast for the eyes.
