Playful and eccentric animals and people populate the sculptural work of Binks Edmonds, and unusual gems and materials make up her sculptural jewellery. She's inspired by animals and their sense of play, the oddness and symbology of dreams, and mythology. She is also strongly influenced by Japanese aesthetics -- from her Japanese mother, Binks gained a love and appreciation for wabi-sabi, or the beauty of imperfection and age, asymmetrical balance, and Japanese art forms such as ceramics, Ikebana (flower arranging) and sumi-e (brushwork). She is a member of the beautiful artists' cooperative, the Gallery at the Guild, in Chipping Campden, where her work can be seen alongside that of 26 talented professional local artists: thegalleryattheguild.co.uk.
Binks's work may be seen on her website: binkart.com, and may be purchased through her Etsy shop: etsy.com/shop/BinkArt
