I design and make contemporary glass artworks from concept to installation for a variety of different markets. I use kiln-form techniques to create one off artworks, which have a handmade character.
My photography of modern architecture often initiates research and my practice has developed by utilising these images. I am inspired by abstract painters, such as Mondrian and Rothko for their bold use of colour.
My latest collections are constructed with 1mm glass stringers creating geo-metric patterns, dichroic glass and abstract imagery. The relationship between glass, light and space is a key element to my craft.
I am the artist in residence at the Engineering and Computing Building at Coventry University, I currently creating a large installation for the foyer.
My working studio and gallery is based at the famous Custard Factory in Digbeth, Birmingham's creative hub. It is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday and later in 2017 I will be starting weekend glass courses.
