I am fascinated by both realism and abstract art and enjoy mixed media for its tactile qualities. I work primarily using acrylics but love experimenting with different textures, combining different techniques, mediums and natural materials so you may find threadwork, sea glass, driftwood, bits of old jewellry or Cornish beach sand incorporated in a piece.
Much of my work is inspired by the geology, seascapes and landscape of Cornwall and the work of many of the artists who have similarly been drawn to the county. I live in the midlands but grab as many opportunities as I can to visit the remote parts of Cornwall where I can sit on the cliff tops and beaches gathering sketches for my paintings.
