"Congratulations to Sarah 'Shiro' Parr, whose amazing ceramic sculpture 'Mr Toad' won two prestigious prizes at the at the Rugby Open Art Exhibition, which ran from 23rd November 2019 to 11th January 2020 at Rugby's Art Gallery and Museum.
Her first Award was from the Rugby and District Art Society and was presented by their president Paul Torr.
The second 'The Bridget Aldridge Award' was personally presented to Sarah and the presentation is pictured above."
My creations all have a character and a story to tell and through them I hope to bring a little whimsy and delight back into life by creating amusing and interesting forms which when placed around the home or garden will bring a smile to those who glimpse them.
The inspiration for my designs comes from the natural world, in particular British fauna and flora. Inspiration also comes from more fantastical realms!
I love using found objects to create interesting textures in my work.
I’m a member of the Grid Studios, surrounded by wonderful artists and in a beautiful country setting.
