I usually create jewellery collections for galleries and shops and these are now available on my website.
However I also make a wider range of designs in different colours to sell at retail shows and Warwickshire Open Studios. With everything cancelled this summer, I have opened an Etsy shop as a virtual craft fair and open studio. There are lots of earrings, pendants and necklaces and some have been discounted!
I have always been intrigued by the natural colours and textures of the sea shore, by the wide horizons and the surface of the cliffs. On holiday as a child, I loved beach combing, spending many hours with my collections of tiny treasures. I don't try to replicate the natural world but I hope this simple glass jewellery can evoke similar feelings of finding the perfect pebble glistening in the sunshine.
I use sheets of handmade glass, fusing them together in a kiln at temperatures of over 800°C; combining transparent and opal glass with dichroic and iridescent layers to create jewels that catch the light and shimmer with every movement
...perfect for jewellery.
Although I am inspired by the coast, I make all my glass jewellery at home in rural Northamptonshire, a very long way from the sea.
