Julia Essex spent her working life teaching ballet and running her own successful dance school. After taking early retirement Julia is now able to concentrate fully on painting using oils and acrylics in a lively style. Dramatic seascapes and landscapes are often painted "en plein air" capturing a sense of place and evoking a strong emotional response. Julia is constantly seeking to experiment with new techniques and develop an individual style.
Recent paintings have been inspired by visits to Finland, Austria, Spain, Jersey and parts of the UK including Scotland and Wales.
