I've never tried to define my artwork, it is organic and reflects how I'm feeling. I paint what catches my eye or lifts my mood and hope that others see what I see. I primarily use watercolour but have recently started to use acrylic paint which has inspired and challenged me.
Watercolour is an amazing medium - the paint has its own mind and can create beautiful effects, some happy mistakes and wonderful texture. It is argued that it is the hardest medium to use as once the paint is down there is not a lot you can do. I love that fact.
I'm now finding the joys and the freedom of acrylic paint. The paint is so much more workable and can create a depth of colour and texture you can't get from watercolour paints. I have loved painting seascapes, scraping and flicking the paint to create movement in my images.
Reading this back I've realised how much I enjoy painting and sharing what I have created. I hope that never fades.
