I came to Art and Design at last, as a History drop-out, life model and mother in the middle Seventies. Graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art and MA in History of Art and Design over the next 6 years. All a long time ago!
A career in education HE and FE evolved over the next 37 years, with varying degrees of managerial responsibility, but always teaching,
drawing, painting and art / design history.
I also married again...and again, made gardens, and eventually picked up my brushes, charcoal, and pastels again too.
I do astronomy, love the earth sciences, archeology, history and making art. I listen to music, birds, and read. I look at pictures and the world around me.
The whole person makes my pictures and so it's hard to answer when people ask, ' what do you paint?'.....
I admire so many artists, not all are painters but those close to my practising painter's heart are Paul Nash, Tristram Hillier, John Piper and other artists and illustrators from the British art scene between the World Wars.
