Having recently moved to Leamington I joined the LSA and submitted two pieces to be considered for their winter open exhibition. Being my first submissions to any exhibition I was surprised and extremely honoured that both were accepted. In fact one piece was awarded ‘highly commended’ and it was this that gave me the courage to become part of Warwickshire Open Studios.
Colour and texture have always excited me and in the last few years I’ve finally started what I’d been too scared to do in the past ... playing with big smudges of charcoal, tiny pops of intense watercolour and thick smears of vibrant acrylics.
For me, it’s about creating a happy image, a picture that brings a smile or warmth. In between working on pet portraits, most of my happy images are of dogs, bees, birds and other animals.
Can’t wait to meet you.
