It’s been a quiet year exhibition wise obviously due to The Corona Virus but personally I’ve never been busier where my art is concerned. A month into lockdown April 28th I decided to take part in the Tom Croft initiative offering a free portrait to an nhs worker. It really took off and I stopped doing them once I’d completed portrait 23. What a challenge but also an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience from the comfort of my own studio, perfect.
I began my watercolour studio in July 2017 having had no formal training but I have definitely gained confidence since starting. I’ll try my hand at most subjects but have recently been thoroughly enjoying painting Water and Boat scenes, possibly because planning a holiday seems a very long way off. I’ve completed several commissions over the last couple of years but for obvious reasons it’s been a little quiet recently and so I am hoping Christmas sees sales picking up.
