Hi!
What can I tell you? I have a wonderfully supportive husband and between us we have five children and two grandchildren. My creative journey only began in earnest about 5 years ago and I now can't imagine (or want to!) doing anything else. I paint on a variety of surfaces including canvas, card, glass, fabric and furniture with Folk/Canal art designs in enamel and acrylic paints.
During lockdown I started a course called 'Find Your Joy' with a well known artist from Yorkshire, Louise Fletcher. This is expanding my art into more mixed-media canvas style pieces and I'm very excited at to where this will take me in the future.
You may wonder why the name 'The ARC Shed' - ARC stands for Art, Rocks and Crafts, though my main activity and first love is painting, and by the end of this summer my 'shed' (which will be my studio and a place to hold my workshops) should be completed.
I have a deep passion to help others who hear a voice inside which says "I can't paint" answer it back with a definite "I CAN!"
My workshops will guide you step by step in the techniques used to create wonderful designs using Folk and Canal art brushstrokes and once you gain confidence you'll be inspired to try other things. But your creativity isn't limited to just painting. I will also be running workshops in Powertex fabric sculpting (see the image 'Alina') - this is a wonderful product and whatever you make will be weatherproof in three weeks so can be displayed in your garden.
It is hoped that workshops will commence again in the Autumn. Do follow me on social media and sign up to my Newsletter for keep up to date with what's coming.
