Amanda Edney is a mixed-media Textile Artist, and a registered instructor in SAORI Freeform Weaving. Amanda is passionate about encouraging Creativity in everyone and loves teaching SAORI weaving workshops and classes at BEAUTIFULcloth SAORI Studio in Southam. SAORI weaving is a form of Art weaving, originating in Japan and encourages weavers of all ages to experiment with exciting techniques to create beautiful, unique cloth.
Amanda has a background in Social Psychology, teaching (Primary to HE), interior design and more recently trained in Japan to become a registered SAORI weaving instructor. Before moving to Warwickshire in 2017, she lived and worked in Hampshire. AManda had a pop-up studio and exhibition at the Whitchurch Silk Mill in April 2016 and was Artist-in-Residence there from November 2016-April 2017.
