Amanda Edney is a mixed-media Textile Artist, and a registered instructor in SAORI Freeform Weaving. Amanda is passionate about encouraging Creativity in everyone and loves teaching SAORI weaving workshops and classes. SAORI weaving is a form of Art weaving, originating in Japan and encourages weavers of all ages to experiment with exciting techniques to create beautiful, unique cloth.
Amanda has a background in Social Psychology, teaching (Primary to HE), interior design and more recently trained in Japan to become a registered SAORI weaving instructor. Before moving to Warwickshire in 2017, she lived and worked in Hampshire. Amanda had a pop-up studio and exhibition at the Whitchurch Silk Mill in April 2016 and was Artist-in-Residence there from November 2016-April 2017. She has exhibited at Art in the park 2017 and 2018 and in 2018 took part in Warwickshire Open Studios.
