Maple Barn Studios, 17th June to 2nd July 2017: An exhibition of Glass, jewellery, ceramics and cards.
Justine is a contemporary stained glass artist based in Warwick, Warwickshire. She also works with fused glass and has produced a range of silver jewellery. She graduated from The University of Wolverhampton with a BA Hons in 3D Design in 1997 and since 1999 has worked full time as an Art teacher in Warwickshire.
Justine’s contemporary stained glass panels are inspired by ambient light and colours within our natural world. Her work incorporates a narrative element and an appreciation of shape and pattern. Her work combines traditional craft skills with contemporary designs. Each individual piece of glass is etched with oxide and fired to 900oc before being assembled as a panel. The reoccurring theme of animals with strong shapes and patterns are seen in her collection of individually hand painted cards.
