All my work begins in my camera. Having taken the photo, I like to start being creative with the image. It can take weeks for me to become satisfied with the end result. Sometimes, elements are inserted or removed. Colours are changed or harmonised. A nostalgic feel may be given to a picture by adding multiple layers, like putting a colour wash over it. Some images may be sharpened; others softened. Often, traffic signs, rubbish and intrusive people are removed. The technical term for all this skilled and time-consuming work is "fiddling".
I then produce giclée prints on textured, archival art paper.
