Carol has been a practising local painter and ceramic artist since 1993 when she was a founder member of the Island Studio in Rugby town centre. At the same time she worked on ceramics in her workshop at home, until she joined the Pottery at Hatton Country World near Warwick for a time. Now she is working in her purpose-built studio in Rugby and has become become immersed in mixed media, acrylics, collage and some printmaking, especially gelli-printing. As always, she is interested in colour, texture and pattern, with some abstract and floral themes.
Carol has exhibited her work frequently, on her own and with others, in Rugby, Coventry, Birmingham, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Scotland and at ‘Potfest’ in Penrith and Somerset.
She has held a solo exhibition in Rugby, and has organised and curated several group exhibitions, including the Community Space Exhibition held in the main Art gallery at Rugby Art Gallery & Museum.
She presently has work on permanent display at the Rugby Hotel with the Alchemy group, and work on display at Rugby Tap with Tantalus, and at the Arnold Restaurant with the Rugby & District Art Society, during the Rugby Festival of Culture.
Two books: 'The Potter's Guide to Ceramic Surfaces' & 'Ceramics and Print', second edition, also feature her work.
