Sarah Leigh – Felted Pebble Pod Workshop

Create your own mossy Pebble pod for displaying air plants or dried stems, or simply as a beautifully tactile piece of organic art.

During this 3 hour workshop we’ll cover the basics of felting around a flat resist to create a seamless pod. Once the base pebble layers have been laid out, we’ll then play with additional fibres to create a mossy effect and add shimmering white veins to our pebbles. After you’ve felted your pod using hot soapy water and lots of elbow grease, we’ll look at how to cut an aperture and create a perfect finished pebble form.

Prior experience of felting will be an advantage, but it’s not essential.

Light refreshments and hot and cold drinks will be available to fuel you through the workshop! Workshops will be taught with a maximum of 6 and minimum of 3 participants.

We’re a minute’s walk from the High Street in this busy Birmingham suburb that features lots of independent retailers and cafes. There are 2 car parks on Institute Road, or free parking on the side roads that surround •Nook•.
