Whitnash Nursery School will be visiting Compton Verney to be inspired by its collections and beautiful grounds. The children’s immersion in an exciting cultural and natural environment will inspire creative sessions in the Studio at Compton Verney and at the nursery. In response to their experience and working alongside the artist Matt Shaw children will explore, play and make using exciting materials and resources. Documentation of this whole process and work by the children will then be exhibited at the nursery, online and in the community. This project has been generously supported by Compton Verney. Compton Verney Art Gallery sits in 120 acres of art, nature, and creativity centred on a 18th-century country mansion in Warwickshire. Whitnash Nursery School, rated as an ‘outstanding school’ is recognised for a “visionary and ambitious promotion of early excellence”. Matt Shaw has been an artist for over twenty years and has worked with schools and galleries across the UK.
