Ray Spence is a fine art photographer, lecturer and author with a career spanning 50 years. He is a recognised expert in many photographic fields especially historic photographic processes such as wetplate collodion. As an author he has written many books and articles on photography including ‘Beyond Monochrome’ which was awarded the Kodak Photography Book of the Year. He has lectured widely including local college Warwickshire College and Birmingham City University (formally Birmingham Institute of Art and Design). His work has and still is exhibited widely both in the UK and abroad and has work in the RPS permanent collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum. He is a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and was awarded the prestigious Fenton Medal for services to the society. His interest in the creative arts continues and each year he organises a 3 day event at Guys Cliffe House in Warwick for like minded photographer and artists.
