My studio is in my home in Radway, Warwickshire- the place that has inspired many of the landscape and tree paintings and drawings that I will be showing. I work outside in the summer months drawing and sketching in the surrounding woods and fields, attempting to capture the beauty of this precious place. My show includes these pencil drawings and watercolours as well as oil paintings done in the studio from the drawings and sketches. I have also included some etchings and linocuts. I am predominantly interested in the landscape here where I have lived for many years, and which I feel is disappearing as the towns and villages are developed and expanded. But I am also inspired by Cornwall, where I grew up, and the Peak District which I have discovered fairly recently. I will show my work in my working studio and – if the weather allows -my garden (the subject of many of my drawings).
