I am a handwoven textile designer and will be exhibiting and demonstrating on my table loom with Sarah Lowry, an artist with a career across fine art, textiles and design. She will be exhibiting her mixed media painting and drawing.
My scarves and shawls are one-off accessories in a mixture of yarns, principally silk, cashmere and lambswool, which I am able to source from two suppliers who buy ends of lines from mills.
A vibrant colour palette and texture is used to give a lustrous and iridescent finish.
Since lockdown I have also enjoyed weaving with linen to create teatowels and handtowels. Linen is a beautiful yarn for both.
