Art@EmmersonAvenue

Pear wood bowl form.
Region: Stratford-upon-Avon

Artform: Woodwork & woodturning

Art@EmmersonAvenue is a collaboration of three new local artists including ceramics by Selby Dickinson and Bev Atkinson and woodturning by Giles Dugmore. Open days will include the opportunity to see demonstrations in a working studio.
Selby produces all his work on the wheel and whilst it can be described as fully functional, it represents a very modern and contemporary style. His choice of decoration consists of coloured slips and engobes.
Bev hand builds ceramics, creating distorted shapes enhanced with patterns and glaze to accentuate the form.
Giles creates organic, turned, locally sourced wood pieces showing natural grain, bark and imperfections to reflect the life of the tree.
