Clare Shilvock (Warwickshire Willow)
Art @ St Nicholas House

Artform: Willow & basketry
I transform willow that I grow & hand harvest in a little corner of Warwickshire into unique finished pieces of function & form; traditional & contemporary baskets, garden structures & homeware; showcasing the natural colour, texture and flowing lines of the willow.
I also use traditional craft techniques to weave items with a contemporary twist from English rush, bark, plant fibres, living willow & recycled materials. I have a real passion for working with natural, sustainable, eco-friendly materials and am committed to keeping heritage craft skills alive through constant learning & sharing of knowledge.
Come and see me at work and perhaps try your own hand at some willow weaving, but please be warned: it’s addictive!
I’m excited to be exhibiting at St Nicholas House alongside other talented artists including:
Alix Almond – linocut prints & drawings
David Chantrey- photographer
Janette George – painter
Jacqui Smithson – textile artist & painter
