My influences mainly come from nature and architecture, but anything that makes me stop and look twice is noted and inspirations travel through many sketchbooks for years until a physical entity becomes apparent. I enjoy pushing an idea through numerous changes; it is all meant to be playful and joyful, whilst equally making my brain work hard to make it a successful outcome, whatever form that may take. I work in a variety of mediums as I am keen to find a middle ground which is less restrictive and more unpredictable. I enjoy working freely in terms of size and shape. It intrigues me to see where it will go without being too prescriptive in my decisions. In recent years pattern has become my main starting point for the designs, but where this takes me is a critical part of the journey too.
