Amanda Glanville makes tiny glass stuff. She has been coaxing molten glass into miniature goodies for 30 years and is reinventing little glass animals for the 21st century. Her work has been called ‘art with a big smile on its face’ and a loyal army of fans are keen to collect her latest designs.
Her colourful miniatures make people of all ages squeak with delight: from wee ice lollies, toffee apples, to titchy Daleks and sugar mice.
In 2021, her work in Lockdown resulted in the Science Museum, London accepting a tiny glass Coronavirus into their Covid 19 Collection for the Nation.
She has exhibited widely all over the UK and loves nothing more than doing themed exhibitions. She’s rocking out two recent favourites – pieces from 2021’s popular Coventry: Lost, Found, Imagined collaborative exhibition with photographer John Whitmore and Illustrator Emma O’Brien.
And her Tiny Glass Sweet Shop – a delicious mini feast created for Saltaire Festival 2023.
