UK Wetplate and Alternative Processes – August 16th-18th 2024 – Guys Cliffe House, Warwick
Ray Spence is a fine art photographer. His current work involves using Victorian photographic processes, particularly wetplate collodion. Retired from lecturing in photography at Birmingham City University and any other colleges he now concentrates on producing personal work for exhibition. His work has been shown at numerous galleries including the Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry, The Manege Gallery, St Petersburgh, Russia and Oxo Tower in London. He is also the author of many books on photography including the Kodak photography book of the year – “Beyond Monochrome”. As a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society he is still involved in the promotion and education of photography. In August he organises the annual UK Wetplate and Alternative Photography event at Guys Cliffe House in Warwick.
