Biography

Since leaving Loughborough College of Art and Design in the early 70’s where Jane studied silversmithing and jewellery,  she has been designing and making in Leamington Spa. Currently from her garden studio. After a short course with Gudde Skyrme over 37 years ago set Jane on her way to practising the ancient art of enamelling, (the process of fusing glass to metal), for which she is now renowned, bringing colour to her work.

 

Jane introduces a new collection most years constantly evolving in fresh and exciting directions. She has developed technologies and conquered new techniques to realise her ideas, for this she has received several awards. 

She is constantly researching and developing new work. Continual investigation of both new and old processes and mediums are what compel, stimulate and challenge her  creativity. She now uses computer programmes to design shapes and patterns for the enamelling and then combines these with good old fashioned silversmithing bench skills  So she can realise her jewellery.

Combining her own distinctive style and exquisite sense of colour. Each item undergoes many processes – tools are designed and made to emboss the silver and stampings are created to apply the enamel into the designs adding dramatic colour and contrast. Prices range from £70 – £7000
