Exhibition and News
I have exhibited locally since 2019, first at the Blue Door Gallery in Coventry along with other artists, then in 2021 with the Summer Art Weeks for Warwickshire Open Studios, using my garden studio from 2023 to show my work.
Biography
I paint with oils, watercolours and acrylics, depending on subject matter and final usage of work. I use watercolours for greeting card ideas, and then print the cards from the original on Zeta Linen textured paper.
My work on canvas for wildlife and portraits of family, friends and various pets, including commissions, uses oils for the depth of colour created by the layers of paint. Some of the portraits are in monochrome, occasionally adding one other colour to enhance a particular element.
Since 2016 I have attended classes at Warwickshire College in the ceramics studio, where I create and paint kiln-fired stoneware tiles, pots and multimedia pieces, illustrated with scenes of wildlife and nature.
In 2020, after using online bookbinding tuition to repair book spines, I was inspired to produce hand-made A5 and A6 notebooks and also larger books for watercolour work, all covered with beautiful, decorative Japanese Chiyogami papers.
