I exhibit with Rugby Artists & Makers at the Floor One gallery in Rugby and have used the display facilities at the Alexandra Arts centre.
I started working with wood from a very early age. Over the years this has taken many twists and turns: designing and making furniture, boat building, antique restoration and not the least woodturning. This could not have been further removed from my professional life. Having decided to retire early it took me no time at all to reawaken my earlier passions. However, I have scaled down my work and now concentrate on woodturning and small scale furniture pieces.
I strive to combine clean, simple and elegant designs into well crafted pieces. I try to avoid unnecessary embellishment and rely on pure form to create discreet, elegant and functional objects.
I constantly look for inspiration and ideas in the world around me but try to maintain originality in my work.
The materials that I use are either from sustainable sources or have been obtained by recycling.
