Biography:
David Jones was awarded his PhD by Manchester Metropolitan University; his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Literature was from the University of Warwick. He was a Senior Academic in the Ceramics Department at the University of Wolverhampton for thirty years.
He is the elected representative on the global Council of the UNESCO affiliated International Academy of Ceramics for the UK, Ireland and Benelux countries, and an elected Fellow of the Crafts Potter Association of the UK.
His ceramic work is in many international collections.
He is the author of two books: Firing – Philosophies within contemporary ceramic practice (2007); Raku, Investigations into Fire (1999).
