I am an elected member of the Pastel Society and exhibit regularly at the Mall Gallery, London. In 2019 I won the Member's Award at the Pastel Society. My work is also in galleries in Pembrokeshire, and Stratford-upon-Avon.
Landscape painting has become my natural way to express the emotion/excitement I feel when out in the countryside, sketching. Especially in the west of the British Isles, be it Pembrokeshire, Wester Ross or The Hebrides.
I always work from my own drawings in oils, pastels, mixed media on primed board of 200 gm watercolour paper using a variety of techniques including textured surfaces, thin washes, sgraffito, palette knife and house painters' brushes. I never work from photographs unless commissioned to do so.
