My prints, cards, coasters and framed pictures are always available at two venues in Leamington, both open seven days a week.
These are: The Visitor Centre at the Pump Rooms and ArtsTrail Gallery on the top floor of the Royal Priors.
I have been involved in photography for over thirty years and I am a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and a Master of the International Federation of Photographic Art. However, these days I see myself as an image maker rather than a photographer, because although all the components of my work always start out in my camera, there is usually a lot of manipulation involved. I spend days, sometimes weeks, removing unwanted elements, adding others, harmonizing colours and applying different, often “painterly” effects to achieve my vision.
My objective is to make people feel good when they look at my pictures – especially important at this time, when it is so difficult to feel positive and optimistic. ALL proceeds from the sale of my work go to support a severely disabled little boy in Cuba called Eddy.
I am always seeking new images, and I look for beauty, strangeness, humour, striking colour, amazing texture or the perfect light. My pictures come from this country and anywhere I travel, particularly the wonderful island of Cuba. Some, especially my flower images, come from my home studio. I am lucky to live in beautiful Leamington Spa and I have a large portfolio of local images.
I produce giclee prints on a top quality professional printer, and I always use textured, archival, acid-free art paper, together with archival inks. This ensures that, given reasonable care, my images will still be giving pleasure in one hundred years’ time.
