During the Open Studio summer event this year, I’ll be exhibiting alongside the Kenilworth Artists group in the beautiful St John’s Church Kenilworth.
My prints are still available from the Farthing Gallery, and direct from myself.
I’m an Artist with a background in graphics and illustration, though I’ve now made a happy transition to my original love of painting. The paintings that I do are inspired from my own photography taken on many walks mainly around my home town of Kenilworth and Pembrokeshire. I’m primarily a painter of seascapes, but the recent lockdown situations forced me to consider painting local scenes. Kenilworth, with its variety of pathways though the town and surrounding countryside, the castle and it’s backdrop of spectacular skies in all seasons have provided plenty of inspiration over the last two years. I have plans to paint further afield, so watch this space.
My paintings have a calm atmosphere that make the most out of any lighting situation, day or night, sun or shine, making the most of what I see in shadow, textures and colour, to give the viewer the essence of the day, season and time
Whilst I work from my own photography I would be happy to be contacted regarding commissions, if you have a memorable scene of your own in mind. I also paint portraits.
I hope to be found painting fairly soon in Karen Pittaway’s lovely new art studio, in old Town Kenilworth, just next door to St Nicholas’s church.
