Fiona studied Furniture Restoration and Craftsmanship in the 90s, then whilst raising her son, worked to support young people with behavioural difficulties. All along she had a continuing need to work with wood, but limited by resources and space, she turned to a scrollsaw to indulge her passion.
Rejecting lifeless, indiscriminate CNC or laser techniques, Fiona invests many hours of patient attention to the wood, intricately hand cutting from rescued and native timbers, she explores the imagery the timber suggests, or simply weaves the beauty of the wood into her designs.
Most content when at her saw, Fiona is determined to skilfully make something beautiful and one of a kind.
