After a career in teaching I followed up a lifelong interest in art by enrolling on an Access to Fine Art at Warwickshire College, followed by a degree at Coventry University. Although at first specialising in sculpture I became more and more interested in painting the world around in me, particularly the balance of shapes, colour and pattern. Images that interest me can be as diverse as aerial views of landscape or a group of cottages teetering on the edge of a cliff in Devon. Collage has also been an important part of my work, because of the random and unpredicable nature of its effects.
