I’m a graduate of Coventry School of Art and Design where I obtained a degree in Art and Craft Studies in 1976, while still working full-time as a social worker. I subsequently had work featured twice in Made in the Middle and exhibited in a number of galleries throughout the country in the 1990's and early 2000’s. I was also a founder member of Coventry Contemporary Crafts and showed work with them on a number of occasions.
I have always worked in resin and the materials that I incorporate into my pieces, such as charms from crackers and coloured foil from chocolates, reflect my interest in popular culture and everyday life.
A couple of years ago I managed to escape the increasingly problematic world of public service and got back to creating in my shed. I now wish to exhibit again and to share my love of colour and my memories of popular culture with others.
I also like to feel that my work champions the use of plastic, a currently much maligned material. I have an extensive collection of plastics jewellery, and of various Bakelite items.
