I live in rural Warwickshire, near Southam. I have always lived and grown up in the countryside and it is my love of nature that underlies much of my creativity.
I have worked with all sorts of wonderful fabrics; creating bespoke wedding dresses using beautiful silk and tailoring using the best tweeds from Scotland.
These days I enjoy working with wool as it is so versatile and can be utilised with so many different methods; hand knitting, machine knitting, crochet, felting, weaving and spinning.
Much of the work I do is on a vintage, non-electric, knitting machine. Detail is usually added by hand, either with wool embroidery or crochet. Every item is hand crafted and each one is always just a little different, this means that every item is truly unique.
In a time of fast-fashion and wasted surplus stock, my creative ethos is to make items that are timeless and (I hope) will bring pleasure for a long time. I use wool because it gives me a direct link to the natural world around me, it is eco-friendly, sustainable and can be used in so many ways to varying effect.
All of my items are made using 100% real wool, the majority is from British sheep and endorsed by British Wool.
