Lockdown has proven difficult for physical displays but I was fortunate enough to be allowed to have a small collection of my Animal paintings on display in the Farmers Fayre Cafe and Restaurant in the Stoneleigh Showground, Kenilworth. As it is an agricultural site they suggested displaying images of horses so I’ve been adding to my Horse collection. I’ve been quite prolific with my work and have several collections ongoing at present, but my passion at the moment is painting water and reflections in water. View my full Gallery on my website.
I was a Graphic Designer in the 1980’s and gave up my career to start and raise my family but by the age of 51 I felt an increasing need to be creative again. Thank goodness for the Internet where I was able to see the work of some amazing watercolour artists online. They truly inspired me to paint every day and soon my ‘holiday hobby’ became an absolute passion. In July 2017 I decided to take the plunge and open my own home studio, a Facebook Art page, and an Instagram page and pretty soon I had over 100 paintings under my belt with one being produced very couple of days. I now have a lovely following of Artists and non Artists am selling fairly regularly and simply trying to grow my business in whichever way works for me. I’m part of United ArtSpace, which is a community of Artists trying to make a living from doing what they love. I feel very fortunate to have this passion, to be able to create something from nothing, to always have something to be working on and to wake up each day desperate to get in the studio.
