Jaimie is an abstract and semi abstract contemporary self-taught artist based in Solihull, UK. Her work is characterised by texture, with bold and vibrant colours. She takes inspiration from her observations and interactions with colour, nature and music. Jaimie spends a lot of time outdoors observing nature and uses these observations in her art.
After leaving school Jaimie undertook a Bachelor’s degree in a non-art subject and pursued a professional corporate career for 20+ years. It wasn't until after she left work to be at home full time for her growing children that she rediscovered art and painting. She is primarily self-taught but has taken numerous art classes both online and in person to develop the technical understanding, technique and knowledge of art fundamentals. Her determination and hours of practice has ensured she has quickly developed a unique style and technique.
Jaimie works in oils and acrylics. She builds layers of blended paint and texture and uses a palette knife in the later stages of a painting to create thick impasto textures. Jaimie’s work’s in an intuitive manner adding and taking away parts of the painting until she achieves the desired outcome.
